                       Run For The Nuns          

The monastery is our home, but it also serves as a place where people can come to pray, worship or enjoy some quiet time in the beauty of the wooded area around the monastery.

Since we are a contemplative community we do not work outside the monastery and so our ability to earn income is limited.  In light of this we have an annual fundraising event (the only one each year) called, the Run for the Nuns.  This year it will be held at Harbor Point in Winton Woods on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 9:00 AM.  The Run is fully certified so that experienced runners can use this run to qualify for marathons.
Besides the Run we also have a special Walk in the Park for those who would like a  more leisurely pace,  a Children’s Run and a very special feature, the St. Francis  Animal Blessing for pets at 8:30 AM.

 
 

By having the Run we want to promote good will among people of the city, family values, and wholesome enjoyment of sports and nature.

We also want to make ourselves  better known so that people become aware of our prayerful presence and call upon us for prayerful support.
